Waredaca HT

Classico Z needed to be 1st or 2nd in order to qualify and he did at Olney. But in the fine print there was another requirement. He needed to have gone clear cross country at three horse trials. Waredaca was his third attempt at novice and he went clear. He was three for three!! The day started off well a dressage score of 28 which put him in second! Unfortunately an unlucky rail in stadium cost him 4 faults. He probably will end up around 5th or 6th. Even still finishing on a score of 32 is not bad! Stinky was barely even winded after cross country. This was Stinky's first time jumping over something into water and he jumped in very brave! I will upload videos to the youtube site later. The big news is that we are GOING TO THE AEC's!!!!

Farrier Visit

Classico Z's Official Website is up and running well. www.classicozeventing.com . Stinky went back to Warrington Eventing's barn on Monday. He was happy to be back in his stall with the fan running. While he was at Split Elm, Stinky got his feet done. The farrier commented on how nice his hooves were and said that they had expanded a bit since the last time. The four shoes that were put on happened to be Stinky's second set ever. The farrier said that he could almost put the shoe on right off the truck which means that his feet are very close to the ideal perfect foot.

visiting the vacation home

Stinky came back to Split Elm in NJ today after a great jumping school in the morning with Danny. This morning he jumped three bounces to a 33' three stride over a square oxer out. Once he got it one way Danny took him over it backwards (oxer to bounces). I was very impressed with how Stinky backed himself off so that he could jump the bounces tactfully (and one at a time). He barely broke a sweat, I think he is getting fitter! Since Stinky is not entered in Millbrook he is coming home for the weekend so that he can have some fun around the track. Danny's directions were to keep him happy and that's not hard to do considering he likes just about everything (except paint horses, he's not fond of them). So I brought him here and turned him out with Bogie, a walking horse, who stinky is pretty impressed with. Bogie and Stinky played and ran a bit but in the end Stinky took charge and was bossing Bogie around a bit. The more he competes the bigger his ego gets. Just two years ago he was letting Ritz the lesson pony chase him everywhere! He has come a long way.

His next competition will be on August 16th at the Waredaca HT. He will be going novice again and there should be quite a bit of competition! Waredaca is a very nice event so I'm looking forward to seeing how he handles himself.

Classico Z's first few events

Classico Z aka Stinky has been to three recognized events this year. The most recent being the Olney HT in Joppa, MD. Stinky had a great day from the start scoring a 25.8 on his dressage! It was his best test and score to date! He recieved 9's for his canter circles. Sponsors can find his videos on Youtube. The show juming was really great, Stinky jumped around like a pro. He was about two feet over the jumps as usual! The best part about the day was that Stinky finished second which means that he qualifies for the American Eventing Championships!
